The newly appointed Ambassador of Germany, Martin Jaeger, began his acquaintance with the Chernihiv region in Koryukivka, where he visited the Koryukiv Historical Museum and honored the memory of the victims of the Koryukiv tragedy of 1943.
During the meeting with the mayor and the leadership of the regional and district administration, the Ambassador emphasized that Germany is an ally and friend of Ukraine, and that support from this country is and will be significant for our country.
Mayor Ratan Akhmedov thanked Germany for helping Ukraine and Koryukivka, among others. Last year, our community received significant support from the German Government and the city of Waldkirch, which helped to get through the winter. In particular, these are powerful generators, various tools, utility equipment and specialized cars. Work in this direction continues this year as well.
In addition to financial and military aid, Germany has given shelter to more than a million Ukrainians, as well as to residents of our community. The country pays special attention to the youth of Koryukiv, supporting the youth center "KUB".
