The Koryukiv community received pre-insulated pipes as part of the emergency response project from the USAID Program "Decentralization Brings Better Results and Efficiency" (DOBRE), which will be used to modernize the most
emergency areas of the centralized heat supply network in the city of Koryukivka. Thanks to the support of DOBRE, 400 meters of old pipes will be replaced with new energy-efficient ones, which will improve the quality of heat supply for Lyceum No. 1, Veselka kindergarten and individual residential buildings connected to this line.
Thank you very much Program DOBRE for support in this difficult time of war.
This donor assistance is essential within the framework of the Koryukiv City Council's comprehensive project to modernize the centralized heat supply system. During 2023-2024, it is planned to:
- transfer the boiler room from gas boilers to solid fuel boilers with the funds of the city budget and state subvention funds;
- to carry out a complete renewal of the heating network of the boiler house with the funds of the city budget in order to ensure a stable heat supply of the city;
- with donor funds, loan funds and budget resources of all levels, complete replacement of outdated networks with energy-efficient ones.
This will make it possible to abandon the use of expensive gas in the future, replacing it with local types of fuel. In this way, the community will not only save resources, but also create conditions for the development of a local wood processing business.
USAID Decentralization Brings Better Results and Efficiency (DOBRE) program is a nine-year program implemented by the international organization Global Communities and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The program is aimed at strengthening local self-government and creating better conditions for the development of territorial communities, increasing the level of citizen involvement in decision-making and ensuring accountability and transparency in public administration.
