During the internship, you will be able to learn how local self-government bodies work and how management decisions regarding community development are developed, adopted and implemented, get real experience of working in a separate structural unit and try to acquire new competencies.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to:
– to acquire new knowledge and skills for future service in local self-government bodies;
- get letters of recommendation from internship supervisors;
– to get prospects of employment or enrollment in the personnel reserve;
- to better understand how local self-government functions and how to strengthen the participation of young people in solving issues of local importance.
What is included in the internship program?
- undergoing an internship with a mentor who will familiarize the intern with the work of the relevant structural unit of the executive office or the executive body of the city council, determine tasks, instructions to be performed, and also advise on the organization of work;
- work in one of the structural subdivisions of the executive body or executive apparatus of the city council. The place of the internship will be determined taking into account the area of your interest and intentions regarding future professional activity;
– study of the procedure for the functioning of local self-government bodies, the regulatory and legal framework for the functioning of local self-government;
– attending sessions of the local council, meetings of the executive committee of the city council, aldermen, communal institutions, etc.;
- participation in the development of normative legal acts, preparation of local council sessions and meetings of deputy commissions;
- communication with residents of the territorial community on issues of solving their appeals to local self-government bodies;
– additional training on the functioning of local self-government bodies;
- performance of other tasks in accordance with the approved internship plan.
Duration of internship: 2 weeks (March) with employment of 4 hours per day.
Who can participate?
- citizens of Ukraine aged 18 to 25, who live in the Koryukivka Territorial Community;
- fluent in the state language;
– have or are obtaining a complete general secondary education, vocational and technical education, bachelor's or master's level of higher education;
- continue their studies, temporarily do not work or work part-time;
- have computer skills.

3 people will be selected to participate in the internship program. During the selection of candidates, the following will be evaluated: the candidate's compliance with the requirements; motivation and readiness to complete the full term of internship and implement the acquired knowledge and skills in one's further activities; willingness to cover the internship process and results in social media. If necessary, an additional interview is possible.
Applicants will be notified of the selection results by March 4.
The internship program for young people in local self-government bodies was initiated as part of the Program DOBRE "Decentralization Brings Better Results and Efficiency" Program, implemented by the international organization Global Communities and financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
