On February 20, Ukraine commemorates the Day of Remembrance of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred at the state level, remembering the most tragic days of mass shootings of protesters during the Revolution of Dignity of 2013-2014.
This year, Ukraine commemorates the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred for the tenth time. Tenth in the conditions of the war with Russia. It was on February 20, 2014 that the most people died in the center of Kyiv - 48. They, along with other 54 dead and mortally wounded participants of peaceful protests during the winter of 2013-2014 and five Maidan activists who died in the spring of 2014 for democratic values and territorial integrity of Ukraine, named Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.
February 17, 2021 Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine acknowledged The Revolution of Dignity is one of the key moments of Ukrainian state formation and an exponent of the national idea of freedom. On the same day, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a plan of events to honor the feat of the participants of the Revolution of Dignity and perpetuate the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred for 2021-2025. Among other things, the government provided for the design, construction and operation of the National Memorial Complex of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred — the Museum of the Revolution of Dignity.
