The Koryukivka community received the FOREST RECOVERY diploma

In Ukraine, there are more than 1.5 million hectares of self-seeded forests. Such forests contribute to biodiversity and are an important element in nature conservation and climate change strategies.

Previously, the self-seeded forest was mercilessly destroyed. But now there is a legal mechanism to save it.

In Chernihiv Oblast, thanks to the cooperation of foresters and representatives of the Koryukivka, Semenivka, and Horodnya communities, more than 1,516 thousand hectares of self-seeded forests were saved, of which 629 hectares were transferred by the Koryukivka community to the Koryukivka branch of the SE "Forests of Ukraine".

(as reported by the Northern Forestry Office)
