On August 15, Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko, during a working visit to Chernihiv Oblast, held a meeting with family doctors of the Koryukivka community, heads of border communities, and the regional head of Ukrposhta.
They discussed the supply of medicines to the residents of remote villages of Chernihiv Oblast. According to Viktor Lyashko, residents do not use the "Affordable Medicines" program, but buy the necessary medicines with their own money.
"Only 5% of prescriptions under the "Affordable Medicines" program, issued by family doctors, are filled in pharmacies. A total of 75,000 prescriptions are issued in rural areas per year, and about 4,000 of them are "expired".
The Minister of Health reminds that there are two mobile pharmacies in the region, and since March 2024, the "Affordable Medicines" mail delivery program has been in operation.
The "Affordable Medicines" program provides reimbursement of the cost of drugs at the expense of state funds. Some of the drugs are completely free, some of them are partially free.
To receive medication, the patient must contact a family doctor, receive an electronic (or, in the conditions of martial law, it can be a paper) prescription and contact a pharmacy that works with the Program on the basis of a contract with the National Health Service of Ukraine.
They also talked about vaccination against COVID-19, diphtheria and tetanus. The issue of vaccination in the region is "sinking". There were delays in the supply of vaccines in the region. However, communities will soon receive all the necessary vaccines.
