Waldkirch is a city in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, located 15 kilometers northeast of Freiburg.
This city was first mentioned in 926, because it was in this year that the monastery of St. Margaret was founded there.
Waldkirch is known as the "city of mechanical organs", it is here that the 200-year tradition of organ manufacturing continues.
About 22 thousand residents live in the city. With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, about 200 Ukrainians left for Waldkirch.
